There is consensus that the public sector needs greater responsiveness, efficiency and transparency. Recognising this need, the ‘Trinidad and Tobago Diamond Standard' was launched in 2013, offering real opportunity for public services to rethink the approach to doing business to deliver accessible, user friendly services to the citizens of Trinidad. It is created by the people, with the people, and for the people.

The Diamond Standard is a national certification for services within Ministries, Departments and other Agencies in the Public Service. Agencies certified by this programme have achieved a standard of excellence in citizen service. Anyone doing business with certified services can expect to receive really good service.

The TTDS logo itself was unveiled earlier this year at the inaugural Award Ceremony where 11 public services acheiving the standard were awarded. The programme was featured on television, in newspapers and a multinational published a case study on TTDS online. See the case study here: www.wpp.com/govtpractice/our-work/case-studies/iom-mpa/
