MPADT's ROLE - NATIONAL ICT AND E-GOVERNMENT
Providing the proper framework for ICT in our country is a key gazetted responsibility of the MPADT. The Ministry, through its National ICT Plan seeks improved collaboration and enhanced communications. Adopting innovative ICT's in government will lead to change in:
- How government delivers services to the citizens
- How government engages with citizens, i.e., improved Citizen vs GoRTT interactions
- How government does business, utilizing available technologies to maximise efficiency and accountability
THE NATIONAL ICT PLAN
The ICT Blueprint is a citizen focused plan, tactically aligned to support the National Strategic Plan, Vision 2030.
There are programmes that will allow for the increase access to the internet in less developed areas which will allow for citizens to be able to use e-services, distance learning materials and even shop online whether they are located in Icacos or Toco.
ICT hardware will be made available at a less cost to lower income households thereby closing the digital divide gap to ensure all citizens have affordable internet access.
